About AirportFC

The Airport Facilities Council's membership is open to IFMA members who have some degree of responsibility for an airport facility and those offering specialized products or services to meet their needs. The mission of this council is to effectively address the challenges of managing airports in a global economy. The Airport Council will focus on benchmarking, security pracitices, business development and emergency/disaster planning within airport facilities. IFMA councils provide members with focused networking, targeted information, information sharing and a heightened marketability.

Update! Airport Facilities Council Award for Airports Facility Management Excellence

The AirportFC Award for Airport Facilities Management Excellence is designed to recognize and advance excellence in the field of airport facilities. The Award for Airport Facilities Management Excellence is AirportFC's highest honor and provides airport maintenance departments the opportunity for national and international recognition for their outstanding achievements in facilities management.

Eligibility
The Award for Airport Facilities Management Excellence is open to any Airport, Airport authority or city or county system worldwide.

Process
Airports that wish to be considered for the Award for Airport Facilities Management Excellence must submit application materials to IFMA-AirportFC evaluation board no later than August 1, 2008.

Submissions should be sent via email to Melissa Hyde Melissa.Hyde@ifma.org at IFMA headquarters in Houston no later than August 1, 2008. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.  

The Award for Airport Facilities Management Excellence in conjunction with the President’s Award for Merit is presented at IFMA-AirportFC WWP annual council business meeting in October.

No more than three finalists in each of the following categories will be selected:

20-30 MAP

10-20 MAP

5-10 MAP

1-5 MAP

President’s Award of Merit

The President's Award of Merit is given to individual IFMA-AirportFC members who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in facilities management and who have made outstanding contributions to the association. 

Criteria and Selection Guidelines:
The President's Award is given at the discretion of the current IFMA-AirportFC President and may be awarded to any individual or company that is a current member in good standing at the time of the nominations.
 

Individual Airport Awards

Individual airport entries will be judged on the basis of the quality of their submission and how best they articulate the case for recognition. Applications will be reviewed based on the areas of Leadership, Sustainability, Innovation and Customer Service and Operational Efficiency. Applicants who best describe their airports efforts at addressing these key areas will be selected for recognition. 

Judges shall consist of a panel of 5 members from various regions of the IFMA Airport Facilities Council registered members list and shall be selected annually during IFMA World Workplace annual Airport Facilities Council business meeting.

 

Submitting Materials

Nominations open May 1, 2008

A complete award submission consists of the following parts:
1. Completed application cover sheet.
2. An introductory abstract of no more than 200 words.
3. Narrative of no more than two type written pages for each area of the evaluation areas describing your approach, accomplishments and why your organization should be recognized through this award. Type face should be no smaller than Ariel 8 pt.

4. Photos that may enhance the submission are allowed and should be on separate sheets from the narrative. These do not count against the two page maximum per area.

5. Award submissions shall be in English using Microsoft Word or PDF format.
